Montreal Carbon Pledge
AlphaFixe Capital has been a signatory of the Montreal Carbon Pledge since May 2018. This initiative formalizes the process for calculation and disclosure of the portfolio’s carbon footprint and is supported by the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). http://montrealpledge.org/
The carbon footprint data makes it possible to identify a company’s relative positioning against its industry and to take into account climate related risks during the investment process. The portfolio's carbon intensity is compared to that of the benchmarks and this information is disclosed to all AlphaFixe partners on a quarterly basis.
Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD)
In June 2017, the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) released their final recommendations towards increasing climate-related financial disclosure and enhancing market efficiency. https://www.fsb-tcfd.org/
AlphaFixe has been supporting this initiative since June 2018:
“Climate change has a material impact on natural and human systems. In today’s economy, companies are becoming increasingly exposed to risks emanating from extreme weather events and transitioning to a low carbon economy. To assess these material risks, investors need information on how companies are dealing with climate-related issues. Therefore, AlphaFixe Capital is proud to support the TCFD in the implementation of a voluntary and consistent mechanism for climate-related financial risk disclosures.”
– Stéphane Corriveau, President, Managing Director, AlphaFixe Capital
The information contained in the following document reflects AlphaFixe's approach in implementing the TCFD recommendations.
